Finnish location engine.
An HTTP service answering three questions about Finland from national open data. Where is this place — typed text into a street or a building with coordinates. What can be reached from it — a polygon of everywhere within so many metres of road. How far is this — real road distance, one origin to many points, or one drive end to end.
| Endpoint | Takes |
|---|---|
GET /api/v1/suggest | q, lat, lng, limit |
GET /api/v1/retrieve | id |
GET /api/v1/reverse | lat, lng, radius |
GET /api/v1/isochrone | lat, lng, metres, sectors |
GET /api/v1/matrix | lat, lng, points, metres |
GET /api/v1/route | from, to, geometry |
All are HMAC-signed and rate-limited per client. There is no public access and no sign-up: a caller is a row somebody added on the server.
matrix and route are measured by a
routing engine that polls this service for work rather than being called, so a
distance nobody has asked for before can take a few seconds. If the engine is
not running they answer 504 and the question stays queued — asking
again later returns a real measurement rather than starting from nothing.
